Returns & Cancellations

It is your legal right to return any products to us within 14 after your order is delivered. For extra peace of mind, Lion Chess is extending this period to 30 days for you.

Below, you find more information what to do and who is responsible for what.

You want to cancel an order

If you placed an order by mistake or changed your mind and your order has not been shipped, please inform us about your wish to cancel your order as soon as possible. As long as the order has not been shipped yet, we can cancel and refund you immediately. Once an order has been handed over to the postal services or courier, we will need to get the parcel back before we are able to cancel the order and issue you with a refund.

If the order is already on the way, it is best to simply refuse the delivery when it arrives at your place - that way, your order will be sent back to us and normally Royal Mail or the courier will not charge you for returning the goods (but this is outwith our contorl).

If you received your order and then decide you want to cancel it, please note the following:

• You must notify us of your intent to return part or the whole of your order before sending the goods back to us;
• If the return is due to a change of mind, the item(s) is / are no longer wanted and there was no fault of our own, you will be responsible for the return shipping costs;
• If an item arrives damaged, broken, is different from the product description, a wrong item has been delivered, etc. we will let you know how to proceed and you will not be liable for any return shipping charges;
• Outgoing shipping costs (for sending the goods to you) will be refunded by us; however, we can not refund you for any premium shipping services chosen (e.g. express delivery, etc.) - in such a case we will only refund you the standard shipping charges if applicable;

Again, it is important you speak to us before returning anything as we can not refund you the return shipping costs if you don't give us the chance to rectify any problems ourselves.

Note about Product Defects

Please note that most of our products are made from wood; wood is a natural material and differences in appearance to the pictures shown are completely normal. Wooden products show different patterns due to the grain, have different shades, etc. These features are not considered product defects.

Most of our products are also handmade and small variations are normal and are also not classified as a product defect.

Returning goods to us

If you decided to return (a) product(s) to us and we notified you to send the goods back to us, please send them back to our address:

Unless the return shipping has been organised by us, please keep proof of posting or a tracking number for the courier service used until you are issued with a refund. However, please note the following:

• You are responsible for safely packing the product(s) up. We recommend using the packaging used by us. We can not be held responsible for damages caused by poor packaging or careless handling by yourself;
• Upon receipt of the return, we will inspect the goods and reserve the right to make any reasonable deductions due to damages or other decrease in value due to careless handling or insufficient packaging caused by you, up to the full value of the article(s);
• You will be responsible that the goods arrive back with us. We recommend using a tracked and insured service. We only take responsibility for lost items if we inform you of our intention to accept those risks ourselves before you ship the good(s) back to us
